Quiet Time- The Importance

To be near him is everything we need. When we haven’t been in his presence like we should, God is always gracious enough to fill us up again when we pursue him.

The purpose of Quiet time for many believers, is to spend Quality time with our Creator and saviour.

It’s like a relationship, you talk to God, and God will talk to you.

Quiet time is so important to me, so much that if I don’t have my quiet time I end up feeling like I’m missing the most important person.I feel like I didn’t give him the time he deserves.
When we do quiet time with God:

1. We get to empty out all our problems at his feet.

2. We get to hear his voice.

3.We get peace, and stillness.

4.We get Light-from reading his word.
My Quiet time goes like this:

1. Give thanks to God.

Psalm 136:1 O give thanks unto the Lord;for he is good:for his mercy ensure that forever.

I know sometimes when we go before God in Quiet time, we can be having a good or bad day. Whether it’s a good or bad day ,always remember to thank him no matter the situation, Because HE IS GOOD. Thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ.

2. Read the Word.

The most important tool to use as a Christian is the Word of God. It is the sword of the spirit. Jesus is the Word. The Word is everything we need. When we become saved our milk is the word. When you become more mature as a Christian your daily food will be the Word. The Word unexplainably fills us up with Light, and fills us in ways we can’t imagine. His Word is the Truth and it is our delight.

When we read the word we hear his voice.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but though shalt mediate therein day and night, that though mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

3. Sit and be quiet, allow God to Speak.

4. Pray.

Pray and thank God. Pray and give God all your problems. Cast them to him, and he will take them away. 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. This is your time to commune with Jesus and give him your all. Holy Spirit will also lead you to pray in other areas you didn’t know you needed prayer in. Also, if someone is placed on your heart pray for them 🙂

pray for others- your church, your pastor, church leaders, friends and family.

5. Sit and be Quiet, Listen to God. Stay quiet long enough to allow him to speak.

6. Worship

This is the best part of  Quiet time!

I play Withholding nothing by William McDonnell and I surrender by Hillsong.

Play worship music to give praise to God. When we Worship God our focus is no longer the problems of this world. Our focus is placed on Jesus and all the Lord has done for us. He is Worthy to be praised! You can Sing, dance, praise, Worship! Let Him Fill you.

http://bible.com/1/psa.150.1-6.kjv Praise ye the Lord . Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.  Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.  Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.  Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.  Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.  Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord . Praise ye the Lord .
7. Pray and thank him.

Stay in the Spirit

Galatians 5:25

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh,  but after the Spirit.

Quiet Time is so important for believers , I have found that Quiet time helps us grow 🙂

1 Peter 5:10-11

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect,  stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.
